Work smarter, not harder.

Many friends and family members would claim I’ve been a busy bee buzzing around for most of my life. Not all of their comments about my work are complimentary. But they fail to realize I discovered a treasure trove of inner resources as I racked up those years! Some became real game changers. Realizing I could collaborate with my subconscious to unlock my happiness and productivity vaults is a top contender. It is a life hack that helps my life become a joy! There are many more that have helped as well and serve as a personal pep squad.

In Become the Boss of You, we take a unique approach to understanding the profound influence of the subconscious mind on many things, starting with effective time management. This reservoir of energy is not just a theoretical concept but a practical tool that we can evolve to help us navigate life’s challenges. Our subconscious mind plays a pivotal role in shaping our beliefs and emotions towards the scenarios we encounter. Once our routines are perfected, they operate automatically, guided by the immense power of our subconscious mind, giving us a sense of reassurance and confidence.

Our book discusses time management because time can often feel like a relentless force. However, it’s important to remember that it doesn’t discriminate based on the quality or happiness of our lives. As time passes, we can learn to take control of our subconscious mind’s capabilities. The power of the subconscious mind is immense, and even learning to use a fraction of it can significantly improve our happiness and life satisfaction. We advocate for using the potential of the subconscious mind to guide us toward success, and we’re here to motivate and inspire you to take control of your life. The process is beneficial and enjoyable, and the power is within your reach.

The Become the Boss of You journal workbook

Introducing the perfect companion to your journey of self-discovery-the Become the Boss of You Journal Workbook. We’re all about journaling to entice your subconscious. As you engage with the BBY journal workbook, you will witness your creativity become a river of inspiration. Following the prompts, your thoughts will effortlessly dance onto the page, and we stress the “effortless” part! We encourage you to let your mind be so at ease, it would be like the effort of you placing a leaf on the water to get it to float gently down a brook. We also emphasize that it’s important to have fun with this process.

You see, there is no need to hurry in the subconscious realm. In addition, poise and calm are better than effort and hard work when starting anything new and interacting with one’s subconscious self.

BBY– deep dive journaling hack.

Become the Boss of You introduces a concept I call deep-dive journaling. This deep-dive concept allows help from our subconscious mind as we brainstorm. There is a playful interaction in the process, and we use the structure of a tree as a guide. The main idea is the trunk of the tree. The thoughts and ideas that spring from the central idea can be considered branches. As you journal and allow your mind to associate, it will travel from the trunk to a main branch of the central idea. Sometimes, it will travel to other branches from off that branch and occasionally even get to a leaf.

The tree structure allows creativity and fun but does not let the mind run out of control. If we do allow this, we will not reap any results. A specific example we use to explain in the book and workbook is gratitude.

Through deep-dive journaling, we can enrich our conscious understanding of a topic by letting our subconscious playfully introduce fresh and exciting ideas. The goal is to encourage some degree of association while staying connected to the core concept represented by the tree trunk. As our thoughts stray further from the trunk, the likelihood of those ideas remaining relevant to the essence of gratitude diminishes. However, a little creative association can reveal insights from the subconscious that we might overlook. The tree concept allows us to maintain focus and still allow for creativity from a higher self while staying anchored to the central idea.

The trick is to have fun juggling the perks of free association while hugging that trunk! Some nights, let your imagination run wild like a cat on caffeine—other nights, cozy up to the main idea like a warm blanket. If you realize you’ve wandered so far off the tree that you’re lost in the woods, return to the trunk and start fresh! For instance, if you’re deep-dive journaling about your epic trip with pals but suddenly spiral into thoughts about how your ex is the worst, congratulations! You’ve officially left the tree and entered the “What Was I Thinking?” zone!

The magic of female energy

The journaling sessions in BBY also help us connect with our female energy. As we journal, we listen to ourselves. Tapping into others around us becomes easier once we become receptive to our intuition. We become better listeners and can learn more useful information from people and life. Many find that they become more creative using the BBY journal workbook. The processes encourage our adaptability to new ideas and intuitive insights.

Female energy is not to be claimed by any gender. It is essential for all individuals. We are on a quest to harmonize our male and female energies. We all require compassion at various times, just as nurturing—whether from others or through moments of self-care—is equally important.

A friend experienced a swift rise in her female energy while using the BBY journal workbook, even though she was halfway through. She mentioned that she saw these benefits without investing extra time or effort. I explained that it’s not unusual for people to feel a deeper connection to life’s natural rhythms. She concurred, noting that her life felt more enjoyable and less stressful. I then asked her for a specific example to include in an upcoming book, and she provided me with the following.

She had a garden because she wanted to eat correctly for her health. She loved the herbs and vegetables, but it was too much work. Her negativity toward working in the garden increased yearly; she thought this would be the last year. It just wasn’t worth the time.

As she delved deeply into “gratitude,” she remembered how much she once cherished nature. Memories flooded back of how it connected her to Mother Earth; she would spend hours observing clouds, birds, and even insects. She would savor the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the wind, soaking it all in. It struck her that she was no longer engaging in these simple pleasures while working in her garden. Somehow, gardening had transformed from a joy into a chore. It became a burden, a task she had allowed it to be. She made it so.

I asked her if she was still considering replacing her garden with grass for convenience. She responded, “Not for anything!” she had rediscovered the joy of gardening. It helped her engage all five senses. She has reconnected with the seasons and is now a plant caregiver. The garden is now an essential part of her home. It creates a cozy atmosphere in her yard. Gardening has become as vital to her as the journaling that reignited her passion. Some days, it acts as a source of reflection; other times, it provides a tranquil space for contemplation. And in other moments, inspiration strikes as she tends to the soil and immerses herself in nature.

She left me with an inspiring quote: “You know, you can find wisdom in anything that connects you with nature, even pulling weeds.”

Jessica journaled to reconnect with herself, which spiraled into a full-blown love affair with life! She claims she’s leveled up her understanding beyond just gardening. Now, she’s hanging out with friends more often and having a blast when they do! Journaling led her to be ok with her quirky emotions. That opened the door to accepting the feelings of others—even when they’re as different as cats and cucumbers. Thanks to BBY journaling, she’s tossed judgment out the window like last week’s leftovers!

This newfound openness has dragged her back to her garden, rekindled her exercise game, and is now engaging in past mindful practices. She has let go of the idea that everything is a task, and negativity no longer crashes the mindfulness party! Curious, I asked what she sacrificed for all this fabulousness. She casually mentioned trading away some stress, negativity, and pesky bad habits that were hogging her precious time. She thinks it’s a tiny price to pay for the joy, balance, and intuitive life she’s snagged back!
